My Story
My story is not a unique one.
About 14 billion years ago something happened. Whether it was a big event or not is debated, but it was, by all accounts, a big deal. All seemed to be chaos at first but eventually, things settled into a relatively stable pattern allowing stars and planets to form throughout what I like to call the Universe.
On one particular planet that is important to me (please excuse my self-centered view, but the tale goes considerably faster this way), chemical reactions occurred in such a way that what is best described as self-replicating molecules were formed. Over time, a considerable amount of time, in fact, these molecules replicated and modified into different forms or “domains” of what we now call “Life.” In one such domain, there evolved an order of animals known as Primates.
After millions of years of turmoil and trial, one subspecies of primate, Homo sapiens emerged as the dominant life-form on the planet and took upon itself the task of studying its surroundings and it’s life on this planet that it eventually came to call Earth.
These are my people. Their story is a long, adventurous one that is both enchanting and horrifying and is not well-served by this recounting, but it is, I think, truly, the greatest story of them all. It’s my story and it’s yours.
You are the culmination of billions of years of amazing work. Congratulations!

About me |
I am a father, husband, artist and writer.
As a skeptic, liberal democrat, and self-described two-fisted atheist, I am an outspoken advocate of the separation of church and state, science and arts education, a social safety net and personal responsibility. Those of you who know me as a producer of the Haterazzi Radio show know that there is a a lot conspiracy theory support that happens on that podcast. You won’t find that here. I’m a skeptic and an advocate of critical thinking, which means addressing facts, not speculating of the motivations of individuals or groups (unless I’m talking politics, then it’s speculate, speculate, ad hominem attack, and bomb-throw!). You can find me on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. |
